# Filaments > Tens of thousands of neon field lines streaming around dark cores, with comets of light running along them, driven by the music you share. A real-time WebGPU experiment by Luis Bizarro. Tens of thousands of neon lines follow the field lines of six smooth fields that stream across the whole frame around a hidden dark core: a dipole in a stream, two opposed dipoles, a smoke ring, a vortex that spirals in and shoots out as jets, a stream lensed around a black core, and a twisted magnetosphere. Comets of white-hot light run along the lines, each field has its own neon palette, and changing field sends the lines flying from one shape into the next as they change colour. Share system audio ("Play your favorite music and share system audio.") and the music drives it: the bass strengthens each field and speeds up the comets, kicks swell the shape and shed bursts of light off the lines, snares step the colours, and Auto mode moves to the next field on a kick every twenty seconds. Every line is traced on the GPU in a compute shader every frame. - Download: desktop apps for [Mac](https://filaments.bizar.ro/downloads/Filaments-macOS.zip), [Windows](https://filaments.bizar.ro/downloads/Filaments-Windows.zip) and [Linux](https://filaments.bizar.ro/downloads/Filaments-Linux.tar.gz), the same piece in Rust and wgpu, listening to system audio. - Live: https://filaments.bizar.ro/ (needs WebGPU: a recent Chrome, Edge or Safari) - Built with: Raw WebGPU and WGSL, TypeScript and Vite. - After: Alex Maltsev's "Dope", Raw & Rendered's CAMP 2016 titles and Mario Tran Phuc's X-Particles artwork. - Author: Luis Bizarro, creative technologist and real-time 3D developer for the web ## Author Luis Bizarro builds real-time 3D for the web with WebGL and WebGPU: shaders, interactive scenes and award-winning creative websites.
